Snake VS Block- A Modern take on all-time favorite Classic Game ‘Snake’ with an Interesting Twist

July 15, 2017

Swipe your finger to guide a snake of balls and break the bricks. Try to break as many bricks as possible.

Snake VS Block is a modern take on all-time favorite classic game ‘Snake’ with an interesting twist. In this auto-runner game, you guide a snake made up of balls through a kind of maze system, wherein you’ve to break the blocks in your way to make progress. Did I mention that, both blocks and balls have numbers written on them? Well, that’ll decide how long you can survive.

HOW TO PLAY

This is a simple game with simple rules, but at the same time, it is not that easy to score big or beat your own high score every time you play the game.

The goal of the game is to build your snake (of balls) by moving through the balls that show up on the screen. There is a number attached to each ball, which indicates how many balls will be added to your chain. As you move through the game, you will encounter multi-colored blocks with numbers on them. These numbers indicate how many balls you will lose off your chain if you hit them. You can survive the blocks if you have a long enough chain.

For example, if you have a chain that is 20 balls long and you hit a block with a number 5 on it, you will only lose 5 balls and still have a chain that is 15 balls long that you can continue building on. Needless to mention, if your chain hits a block it can’t break (block with a number 21 in this case) —the game is over.

Note: The more blocks you can run into, the more points you can earn.

Graphically, Snake VS Block is quite appealing; the black background and the multi-colored blocks make the game look gorgeous. The only thing I didn’t like about this game is that there are lots of ads. Anyway, you do have the option to upgrade to ad-free interface via one-time in-app purchase, so no worries. Tip: You can also turn off your mobile data / wi-fi to avoid ads while playing the game.

To sum up, Snake VS Block is a highly addictive game, just like Color Switch if you’ve played it. It is well-designed game (with increasing difficulty at every next swipe) to test your reflexes, skills, and timing. You must download this game if you are looking for something interesting.

Tip: Though hitting the higher-numbered blocks will reward you with more points overall, still focus on breaking through the lower-numbered blocks to make progress.
