Headspace: A Guide for Meditation & Mindfullness

In this fast-paced, stressed life, it’s is important to remember to take a break from time to time and meditate every day so that you can live a happier, healthier life. But many of us find it hard to meditate. Enter Headspace, an app that eases you gradually into meditating regularly with a challenge to take 10 minutes every day for 10 successive days. Presumably, if that works for you then you’ll want to go deeper into the app’s various range of courses, which in total cover hundreds of hours’ worth of meditations (though you need to pay to unlock each one).
Headspace’s features at a glance:
Take 10: To start off, practice the basics of meditation and mindfulness with Take10 (Headspace’s free introductory series). With 10 sessions of 10 minutes each, you’ll learn how to train your mind for a happier, healthier life. In addition to Take 10, the app also includes different meditation series like foundation, relationships, health, performance, and so on. Each series focuses on different perspectives of life. You can unlock each one of them via in-app purchases.
Track your Progress: The app gives you stats after every meditation session, which include average duration, total number of sessions, and total time meditating. You can also see how many headspacers are currently meditating.
Invite Buddies: You can invite your friends to the app so that you can encourage each other throughout the Headspace journey and never miss out on your daily mediation session.
One-off Meditations (subscribers only): Headspace includes one-off meditation sessions, such as SOS, sleeping, sport-on-the-go, and fear of flying to name a few. Each session is designed to bring a touch of mindfulness to situations so that you won’t panic and get out of the situation easily.
Headspace for Kids (subscribers only): In addition to one-off meditation sessions, the app also includes meditations, which are designed especially for children. You can introduce your child to meditation with topics like calm, focus, kindness, sleep, and wake up. Best Part? The sessions are customized for three age groups, i.e. 5 and under, 6-8, and 9-12.
