This is more of an informational app where the Ministry of External Affairs comes with extensive updates regarding their citizen centric services and outreach activities. All the information is neatly organized into several tabs, namely E-Citizen, Follow PM/EAM, Haj, Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, Indian Missions Abroad, Public Diplomacy, Passport services, Visa/Consular services, and Media Centre.
While the E-Citizen section of the app provides you with information on tenders and important notifications, Passport Services section helps you with all your passport-related queries. You can know how to apply for an Indian passport, download the requisite forms, locate nearest Passport Seva Kendra, calculate the fees and even track your application status. However, you cannot apply for a passport using this app, at present.
Another section called Indian Missions Abroad, as the name indicates, lets you find the nearest Indian Mission/Post (this is helpful in case you’re looking for immediate consular assistance) in addition to giving you an access to Indian Missions Abroad A-Z directory and press releases. The app even redirects you to the Consular, Passport and Visa division website for further assistance.
What’s more, the app also features detailed information about how to undertake Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and Haj pilgrimage and helps you with all the travel arrangements. Apart from that, it lets you follow PM/EAM visits abroad, including incoming visits along with the agenda of each incoming visit.
That’s not all! The app also lists documentaries and films, speeches & statements, guest lectures on contemporary foreign policy themes, media briefings, and a lot more information. You can even access and read ‘India Perspectives’, the flagship magazine by Ministry of External Affairs, on your mobile.
Overall, this app is a great initiative by the Ministry of External Affairs to keep us updated about their activities and helps us find assistance for passport/consular-related services.
