Clips by Apple
April 10, 2017
Meet Clips, a new app launched by Apple, which makes it quick and fun for anyone to create expressive videos on iPhone/iPad. With a few taps on your iPhone, you can create and send a video message or tell a quick video story with animated text, graphics and emoticons, music and more.
The dead simple user interface enables you to record and combine multi-clip videos, stills and music into great-looking videos that you can share with friends through iMessage, Instagram, Facebook, or other popular social networks.
How to Record a Clip and Photo
No sooner than you launch the app, it greets you with a short video tutorial. Tap the ‘Get Started’ button to ahead to the video capture screen. You’ll find 3 shooting options, i.e. VIDEO, PHOTO and LIBRARY, along with the “Hold To Record” button, and icons to access features like Live Titles, Filters, Overlays, Posters and Music.
Creating a video is super easy. Tap VIDEO and then press and hold the ‘Record’ button to record a clip and release to stop. You can record as many video clips as you want and then press ‘Done’ button when you’re finished. The app will combine all of your clips, creating a video. You can also rearrange, trim or delete a clip before compiling them into a video.
The app also allows you to record a photo to include in a video. Simply tap the PHOTO option and then press and hold the ‘Record’ button for the number of seconds you want that photo to appear in your video. You can also add a photo or video clip from your camera roll in a similar way by choosing the LIBRARY option.
Add Live Titles, Artistic Filters, Text Overlays, and Music to Your Clips
The main highlight of the Clips app is the brand new feature called Live Titles. Interestingly, this feature enables you to add live captions to your clips – just by talking as you record.
Captions are generated instantaneously as you speak, and appear on screen perfectly synced with your voice. You can even edit the Live Title text. Simply play back the video clip that features the Live Title, pause the clip, and then tap on the Live Title text. A text editing window will appear that allows you to edit the Live Title text. Note: Live Titles supports 36 languages.
You can also apply a filter while you record or edit a clip plus you can add customizable text overlays, speech bubbles, and emojis on top of the clips in your video. There are animated posters too with customizable text to include in a video. And of course, you can add music to your video from your library or from a selection of built-in soundtracks.
Overall, Clips app helps you create wonderful video stories in no time. So, if you are looking for a video creation tool with some new exciting features, you must give a shot to Clips app. It won’t let you down.
